Board Position Available
The Pharmacy Defence Association (PDA) is a non-profit membership organisation that provides wide-ranging discretionary support to member pharmacists practising in a variety of roles and settings across Aotearoa New Zealand. PDA’s main goal is to protect and enhance the reputation of the pharmacy profession by promoting safe pharmacy practice.
PDA’s Board of Management provides strategic governance to ensure the operational team continues to meet current and emerging needs of our members.
PDA recognises and honours the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi to facilitate pro-equity and culturally safe practice.
The PDA Board of Management is seeking expressions of interest for one board member position.
Each applicant should be a member of PDA and hold a current Annual Practising Certificate with the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand. Ideally applicants will bring some experience in strategic management at a governance level. A key attribute required is a commitment to improve the practice environment for pharmacists to enable them to work safely.
The PDA Board of Management welcomes and supports expressions of interest from people of all gender identities, ages, ethnicities, sexual orientations, disabilities and religions. A requirement of this role is to actively support and promote diversity and inclusion.
Board meetings occur every two months. Board members may be asked to attend additional meetings and respond to email correspondence as required.

This is an unpaid position, with board members receiving a small honorarium for attendance at meetings. PDA maintains and pays for a directors and officers liability policy for all board members.
This position is open to applicants throughout New Zealand. Board meetings can be attended virtually.
